Allentown Fair grandstand shows to slam to an ending this year

The J&J Demolition Derby again will close Allentown Fair this year on Sept. 2

ALLENTOWN, Pa. — Flying fenders and wrecked radiators will again close Allentown Fair’s run this year, it was announced Wednesday.

J&J Demolition Derby, a Labor Day mainstay at Allentown Fairgrounds, will return to the fair for its closing-night grandstand entertainment offering on Sept. 2.

The announcement completes the grandstand lineup for the fair, which this year runs Aug. 28-Sept. 2.

Tickets, at the same price as last year — $20 and $15 for ages 12 and younger — go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, May 17, the fair box office on the Allentown Fairgrounds and online on the fair website.

The derby, which will feature three heats, with full-size cars, the ‘80s or newer and compact cars, will return to the fair on Sept. 2.

Tickets, at the same price as last year — $20 and $15 for ages 12 and younger — go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, May 17, at the fair box office on the Allentown Fairgrounds and online on the fair website.

The tickets include admission to the fair.

Tickets for the recently announced show Blippi The Wonderful World Tour on Aug. 29 also go on sale Friday, May 17.

Tickets also remain available for this year’s previously announced Allentown Fair headliners,Heart and Cheap Trick on Aug. 28,Brad Paisley with special guest George Birge on Aug. 30,Pentatonix on Aug. 31 andJeff Dunham on Sept. 1.

The fair is also offering discount ride tickets, half price fair admission, and prepaid premium concert parking.
