Rami Abouloh, 42, of Allentown, was convicted of first-degree murder, attempted homicide and aggravated assault this week, according to the Lehigh County District Attorney's Office.

ALLENTOWN, Pa. — An Allentown man will be sentenced to serve the rest of his life in prison for killing his wife at a Whitehall Township playground last year, authorities said Friday.

Rami Abouloh, 42, was convicted by a Lehigh County jury of first-degree murder, attempted homicide and aggravated assault in the fatal shooting, District Attorney Gavin Holihan announced.

Abouloh is set to be sentenced Aug. 13. First-degree-murder convictions in Pennsylvania carry a mandatory life sentence without the possibility of parole.

Authorities said Abouloh shot his wife, 35-year-old Patricia White, and Frank Russo last June 13 in West Catasauqua Park in Whitehall Township.

Abouloh and White had four children, who are being cared for by White’s family.

Police said officers responded about 6:50 p.m. that day to reports of multiple gunshots at the park. There, they found White and Russo suffering from injuries.

White was pronounced dead in the emergency department at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, where Russo underwent surgery.

Abouloh called 911 to turn himself in as police were looking for him. He told dispatchers he shot his wife in the park after finding her with another man, police said last year.

He told police he returned to his East Hamilton Street home, where police found him — still on the phone with the dispatcher — and a semi-automatic gun inside a closet.

As Abouloh was taken into custody, he uttered, "That's what happens when you cheat."

Abouloh and White had four children, who are being cared for by White’s family, according to the district attorney.
