BETHLEHEM, Pa. — It may be the first time in nearly a half century that the audience at Godfrey Daniels consistently laughs at a headline act.
Godfrey Daniels, the venerable folk music club in South Bethlehem, will offer its first headline comedy show in its 48-year history at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 30, according to organizers of the just-announced show.
Topping the bill will be Kate Hughes, a finalist on the 2019 season of the comedy competition "Standup NBC."

The show also will include a pop-up Brewery Night with Country Club Brewing of Bethlehem.
Tickets, at $28.50 in advance and $35 day of show, are available atthe Godfrey Daniels website.

Hughes has headlined shows at clubs including Helium in Indianapolis, Indiana; Goodnight's in Raleigh, North Carolina, Laughing Skull lounge in Atlanta; Hilarities in Cleveland, Ohio; and Chameleon Comedy Club in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Supporting acts and more
Host for the show will be Colin Coleman, a new comic out of Allentown who is host for open mics at the Allentown art gallery Inkwell and elsewhere in the Valley.
Supporting acts on the bill will be new comedian Bill Gibson and Lehigh Valley-based comedian, writer and producer Aliya Brown.
The pop-up brewery night will feature offerings of Country Club Brewing, a Southside Bethlehem micro-brewery at 323 Pierce St.

The menu will include Thank You 62 lager, John Callahan IPA and Strawberry Hard Seltzer for $7 each.
Godfrey Daniels opened in 1976 as an intimate listening room for mostly folk music, but has expanded to include many more musical genres.
