HANOVER TOWNSHIP, Lehigh County, Pa. — The Boeing B-29 Superfortress is making another tour stop in the Lehigh Valley.

The B-29 Doc History Restored Tour initially took place at Lehigh Valley International Airport May 9-12, with tickets ranging from $600 to $1,500 apiece.

Now, the World War II-era plane is back — more specifically, it will land at LVIA at 2 p.m. Monday.

Flight experience tours will take place Monday, May 20, and Tuesday, May 21. Ticket pricing is the same, but will not include ground and cockpit tours during this visit.

Tickets can be purchased here.

Two flights will occur Monday at 5 and 6:30 p.m. and one will take place Tuesday at 9 a.m.

B-29 Doc is one of 1,644 B-29 Superfortress aircraft built by the Boeing Co. in Wichita, Kansas, during World War II — but one of only two Superfortress bombers that remain airworthy.

The mission of each visit is to honor the men and women who designed, built, maintained and flew the B-29 during and after World War II.

It also aims to connect people with the heritage of the B-29 and let aviation enthusiasts experience the aircraft up close.
